What a week of amazing light we have had. If it hasn't been crazy sunbursts, like this one above on Sunday morning, then it has been intense sunsets that look like whole hillsides are ablaze (scroll down a bit to see what I mean).
Doing my rounds this week has been extra nice as there seem to be more and more people coming out of their winter hibernation and enjoying the outdoors. It's pretty cool to be able to share these amazing, but brief moments with others.
Last week I got back in the water with my camera in a new water housing. It was the first time I have shot in the water since about eight years ago and it was so much fun. I enjoyed it so much I rubbed blisters right through on each side of both ankles from swimming with fins! The cameras have changed a lot in that eight years, too. We used to make our own housings and you had to set the shutter, aperture and focus before you sealed the housing and after 36 shots that was it. Now I can shoot 500 shots and change any setting I like right there in the impact zone.
I hope you like the perspective from the water – surfers get to see it everyday, so we're excited to share it with everyone.
Should be some good surf on offer this week with a good chance for quality waves on the North Coast. Plenty of sunshine on the cards as well for the sunseekers among you.
If you get a chance head down to Cafe @ Pier and try out their cookies with your next coffee (that's them there in that bowl on the right). They are all-time.
