September 18th 2012: Contains nudity

Today is a big day for Dunedin Light – we've turned 1! Fifty-two weeks ago we sent out our very first photo report to about 1800 subscribers. Today our reports get read by an estimated 4000 people every week ... and we still have lots of new subscribers discovering our weekly imagery.

We now have our own Facebook page, the report gets replicated on dunedinnz.com, zepher.co.nz, surf.co.nz and we often feature in the galleries on surf2surf.com. And now we're producing our first book from a year of Dunedin Light.

We're very proud to have managed to keep these reports free for all subscribers and that comes down to all of our advertisers: Hydro Surf, Hotel St Clair, Skinnies sungel, R&R Sport, Seventhwave Wetsuits, The Photo Gallery, Geeves Building Services and the Dunedin Derby girls. Most of these organisations supported us from when we first started so we hope Dunedin Light subscribers support them right back when they can.

We'd also like to thank the team at Tourism Dunedin who offer great support and guidance for the Dunedin Light project. Digital marketing guru Josh Jenkins is a surfer and photographer himself and he has been instrumental in helping us to shape the weekly reports.

Lastly, thanks to all of our subscribers who send us emails telling us how much they enjoy the weekly reports. That alone makes the early morning starts and days of editing images worth it.

We hope you enjoy this week's offering, but we apologise in advance for the nude rugby players ... you've been warned.

See you at the beach ...
