From our perspective there is some upside to shorter days: it means we can shoot sunrises over a late breakfast (like the one above, just minutes before the madness of a school run) and we get to take our final dusk shots before dinner – like the shot below that was captured in near darkness last week. It's a season to rest up, catch up with friends and family under the cover of darkness and hibernate.
Our semi-hibernation had a couple of highlights this week – one was a trip to catch the last half hour of a magic session up the coast. We really put the high-ISO capabilities of the Canon 5D MkIII to the test and are happy to report that we can now shoot right into the inkiness of night.
The second highlight was an early morning dash up the high road to Larnach Castle where we shot with the Gallow Lasses – our favourite roller derby team. The shots were for their promotional needs – here's a sneak peek below. The girls are always a lot of fun to work with, but throw in a real sword and a mist-cloaked castle and the laughter ensues. With names like Nicki Noxious, Anne Thrax, Diva Demolisher and Sister Strychnine it's easy to like these girls. Check out their upcoming events here.
No time to hibernate this week with a forecast that's loaded ... fuel up.
See you at the beach ...
